This month, Taylors Solicitors are one of the solicitors in Devon taking part in Free Wills Month, which gives members of the public who are 55 and over the opportunity to create or update their will free of charge. Instead of paying the solicitors’ fees, all that is required is a voluntary donation to one of the charities involved in the scheme.
Free Wills Month takes place every March and October, and is an initiative co-ordinated by a group of charities which include Age UK and the RNLI. Many charities see most of their donations as a result of inheritance, with the scheme seeking to actively encourage people to considering leaving some of their money to a charity in a will. Other charities set to benefit from the scheme include St John Ambulance, British Heart Foundation and the NSPCC.
Already being fully booked for October’s Free Wills Month, we are delighted to be helping both charities and the local community benefit from the scheme, offering the public access to free, simple wills and raising a large sum of money for various good causes.
