Legal solutions with a personal touch
Most people accept that, at some time in their lives, they will need to make a will in order to provide for the distribution of their estate in the event of their death. However, what is often overlooked is the need to make provision for someone to help them look after their personal affairs, or their health and welfare arrangements, if during their lifetime they are affected by some accident, illness or other condition which prevents them from dealing with matters personally.
For instance, if you are unable to sign cheques or other important documents in connection with your property and affairs, or if you cannot communicate your wishes to a medical practitioner or care worker, no-one else can do this for you unless they have been given legal authority to do so. The best way to achieve this is by making a Lasting Power of Attorney, sometimes known as a living will, while you are fit and well enough to do so, as you can then choose whom you wish to appoint as your attorneys and provide for any special requirements or conditions.
Our North Devon Powers of Attorney specialist is friendly, sympathetic and understanding and can provide expert professional help and guidance on what can sometimes be a sensitive issue. She will start by providing you and your attorneys with a free half hour initial consultation, in order to discuss and identify your requirements and provide an estimate of likely power of attorney costs involved, without commitment.
Our aim is to help you arrange matters so as to provide you with complete peace of mind, whatever the future may bring. We also aim to give all our clients a friendly, professional and personal service, at competitive rates, and provide you with the help and support you need at what can be a difficult time.
